Journal Policies Print Journals Print journal subscriptions are reviewed yearly. We want to ensure each title is still useful, we want to consider new titles to reflect new areas of health of medicine, and we want to ensure we have some coverage of each major specialty area. Journals are cancelled or bought according to need and budget constraints. If an electronic journal is available in full text through our licensing of a database we may decide to cancel the print subscription to avoid duplication. Electronic Journals The Medical library automatically subscribes to an electronic copy of a journal where there is no additional cost to its print subscription. More commonly there are fees for online access in addition to institutional print subscription rates. Decisions to add electronic access in addition to our print collection are considered yearly. Requests for new journal titles Please contact the librarian, if you have a request for a new journal subscription. These will be placed in a database and reviewed yearly. Journal
Holdings Adopt a Journal Program We encourage professional practice organizations, hospital departments and individuals to help underwrite the cost of journal subscriptions.
