Medscape Reference (Drugs, diseases & Procedures, formerly eMedicine) -- This resource comprises the largest and most current Clinical Knowledge Base available to physicians and other healthcare professionals containing articles on 7,000 diseases and disorders with evidence-based content, updated regularly, providing the latest practice guidelines in 59 medical specialties.

MerckEngage.com - This site contains great reference materials such as the condition library.

Medline Plus - This site provided by the National Library of Medicine, provides access to the ADAM medical encyclopedia, a medical dictionary,  directories, drug topics, videos, and other medical and health topics

Noahhealth.org - The New York Online Access to health provides a wealth of information on heath topics.  Some are written in Spanish.

Virtual Hospital- This continuously updated digital health sciences library provides patient care support and distance learning to practicing physicians and other healthcare professionals. Bandolier - Bandlolier is a magazine reporting on evidence based medicine.  Their website's Knowledge Library,  Bandolier collects and indexes systematic reviews of treatments, and  evidence about diagnosis, epidemiology or health economics.

Centre for Evidence-based Medicine --This UK site has several portals of interest including a library, and compilations of power-point presentations and other teaching and learning tools.

Evidence based practice tutorial (University of Minnesota Libraries) --This tutorial is designed for students in healthcare fields, medical professionals, faculty, and anyone else interested in evidence-based practice. It looks at the 5 step process and how to apply it.

Evidence based medicine resource center (New York Academy of Medicine)--In the "Teaching & Learning" and "Other Resources" section, this portal contains references, bibliographies, tutorials, glossaries, and on-line databases to guide those embarking on teaching and practicing evidence-based medicine.

Evidence in Health and Social Care (National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence)  -- This provides access to information on quality care, and includes QIPP a collection of material on improving productivity.

Openjurist.org Open Jurist is a resource for access to the case law of the United States. The collection includes opinions from the United States Supreme Court - beginning in 1754 when it was known as the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania; and the Federal Appellate Courts - beginning in 1880. It currently contains a total of approximately 647,000 opinions.

THOMAS Primary online source for federal legislative material. Contains new public laws, pending bills, status of bills, committee reports and hearings. Full text of legislation available from 1989 (101st Congress) to present. Depth of other material varies -- some items, including public laws, are earlier in scope. Very current.

Hardin MD -- This contains a large image library and also acts like an encyclopedia organizing resources by topic. It covers all body systems.

Wellcome Images -- The Biomedical Collection holds over 40 000 high-quality images from the clinical and biomedical sciences. Selected from the UK's leading teaching hospitals and research institutions, it covers disease, surgery, general healthcare, sciences from genetics to neuroscience including the full range of imaging techniques.

MedPix Medical Image Database -- An integrated database of textual information and images, intended for health practitioners and students. Material is organized by disease category, disease location (organ system), and by patient profiles. The site also includes a collection of radiology cases, and features a Case of the Week.

HON Media Repository--Search a repository of over 6,800 images

Images MD--You can search through the thumb nails of these images. Unfortunately the full sized image is restricted to subscribers, but the source of each image is given. The library has many of these sources in its collection.

Electronic medicines compendium - This site provides information about prescriptions and over the counter medications licensed in the UK. Information includes therapeutics, interactions, side effects, pharmacological properties, safety. For any given drug it gives the dosage and manufacturer and provides a patient handout.
